Megan Pozzi is an educator, researcher and award winning public speaker. Formerly a high school English and Drama teacher, Megan is passionate about social media, student learning and literacies. In 2014, Megan developed ‘Create a Better Online You’, a suite of online resources targeting the social media skills of undergraduate students at QUT. In 2013, Megan was the winner and people’s choice of the QUT Three Minute Thesis Competition and a participant in the 2013 Trans-Tasman Three Minute Thesis Final. Her thesis focussed on the self-presentational strategies of teenage girls in their Facebook status updates. Megan has presented her research at conferences in Australia and internationally and to audiences ranging from school students to policy makers.
As an Academic Skills Adviser at QUT, Megan works with coursework students and collaborates with academic staff to design, develop and implement learning support resources that develop academic and information literacies. She also works as a sessional academic in the Faculty of Education at QUT teaching sociology of Education and as a Community Correspondent reporting for 612 ABC Brisbane.
